They have issued the warning stating any owner may find their policy invalid if they did not declare the modifications to their vehicle.

This warning was provided after they saw a 10 per cent increase in van modifications within the last three months. Swinton completed a survey using 1,200 online van drivers. Fifteen per cent of these drivers stated they had modifications to their vans, but did not inform the insurance company.

The modifications are usually on vehicle suspension, increasing engine size, or using alloy wheels. Frails is another popular option for modifications. Even simple modifications can affect one’s insurance payout. It is a good idea even if they do not state such a policy to inform an insurance company of changes.
