Author: Policy and Finance Committee of the Municipal Assembly-Peja, organized public hearings with citizens about budget planning for the year 2009-2011.Në this public hearing during the presentation of the draft budget said that compared to the previous year, the budget is three million larger and reaches 12,050,740 euros, a figure that creates opportunities for capital investment tripling and subsidies. At this public hearing was debated for the municipal budget for next year’s planned 12 million euro, while in two other years will be something more than that. Much of this budget will go for wages budget of 2321 workers who receive salaries from the budget will spend 50.8% of the budget next year, while the remaining 5.92 million will be used for goods and services, subsidies and capital investment .
Compared with a year ago the municipal budget increased to three million during the budget presentation said that growth is done by increased government grant and increasing its revenue., Venus Grapci Finance Director, when presenting the draft budget said the next year will grow in all budget lines. She said that the municipality has reduced costs and increased investment and subsidies in some cases multiplied several times, but also by sharing money in sectors for which there is first given a cent. “Capital investment over the next year will increase 300% compared to last year, or 3.92 million euros,” said Director of Finance. At this public hearing was introduced in education increased from 150 thousand to 511 thousand euros, health by 65 thousand to 480 thousand euro and tourism and the economy from 18 to 100 thousand euros.
Capital investment has also introduced Grapci director for administration (facilities of new local offices), for inspection and emergency (new cars) which last year was not shared any cents. As the years passed most of the money from those who are called capital investment will go to public services: the continuation of asphalt and kubëzimin roads and pavements, public lighting and any drainage project. Chairman of the Municipal Assembly Sylqa Ali said that the draft budget is based on the real situation and presents a good basis for development of the municipality in the next three years. At the end of meeting said the public hearing, citizens wishing to make complaints to the 2009-2011 budget can be sent in writing and shall be considered.
